For the last several years I have heard other moms complain that May is the worst month of the year. I thought they were exaggerating...they weren't. My kids aren't even involved in any extracurricular activities. I can only imagine how much worse it will get as they get older. My youngest graduated from Kindergarten yesterday. I am so not old enough for this!
On top of all the end of the year activities I have, in typical me fashion, decided to refinish several pieces of furniture I have picked up lately. I will try to post before and after photos (I'm pretty pleased with how they're turning out). Next on my list is reupholstering my couch (a Goodwill find) and chairs (Salvation Army). Can you tell I'm a big spender? :) I just can't justify spending money on good furniture when my kids trash it regardless. Might as well get something that is a little loved and not stress if they spill Cheetos or wrestle each other on it.
This summer is shaping up to be a fun-filled, crazy-busy, whirlwind. Between tennis, soccer, bowling and swimming lessons, cooking classes and cub scout camp I will be starting my first college class, manning a booth at KidsFest 2012 and attending the Crested Butte Writer's Conference...not to mention I told my publisher that Sea of Despair would be finished by summer's end. Wish me luck!
So what are your plans for this summer (or lack thereof!)?
